The "Notification Email Sender" is setup under our SQL server with a status of "Idle". I wanted to find out what this feature is primarily used for and what types of notifications are sent. Reason being, I have my email as the main email, but I have not received and notifications via email. I have to manually check these message via GEOtab 5.3 locally. If possibly, any documentation on the initial setup to troubleshoot any mistakes I may have made when setting this up would help. If it is used for a different type of notification, they may help explain why I have not received any notifications.

Checkmate notifications are a powerful new tool which allows users to quickly respond to vehicle activity while the driver is still in the field. Notifications can be generated for speeding, entry into a forbidden area, excessive idling, seatbelt violations, and many others. Checkmate application exceptions will also be emailed.

The Notification Email sender should be configured to run under the Checkmate Service (setup->options->services tab, checkmate server options) to ensure that an email is delivered regardless if the application is running.

Please refer to the Exception Notification Quick Start Guide for More information

As noted above - The Notification Email sender should be configured to run under the Checkmate Service. For Checkmate 5.5 use the following: Administration --> Options --> Services --> Advanced - then check the box that states "This computer schedules emailed reports..." and enter in your information.
