We are currently utilizing ESRI with Mappoint 2010. When deplaying just ESRI, our maps and roads show up clear, readable, and fine. As soon as you switch to an overly on Mappoint, the roads become GIANT and literally swallow the map.

Also, along with the support of GEOtab, we had configured the Default Config file to pull data from geo. However, when going outside of the city, it will not pull the data from map point or any other maps. It simply shows up "blank" since there is no data to extract from the shape files. How can we modify the configuration file to pull this data outside of our city limits?

For the huge roads, could you verify the Size acceleration, start zoom and stop zoom values for the .shp files.

As for the map not displaying outside of the city, can you see outside of the city if you view the .shp file through the Describe Shapefile application?

Size acceleration is 0
Start zoom and stop zoom values for the .shp files are 1000 and 3400 (this was created by Moussa?? at GEOtab when we transitioned from 5.2 to 5.3)

The map DOES display outside of the city...it's the data being pulled on our reports and tracking that does not pull if you are outside of the city.

As for the map not displaying outside of the city, can you see outside of the city if you view the .shp file through the Describe Shapefile application? This one seems like a trick question...no, I can't...but the .shp file only represents data for our city so it shouldn't show outside of our city...am I correct?

I can sent you screen shots of what the visual actually is. Everything displays correct with the zoom when using just ESRI as the view. Sorry, if I'm not being clear.

Also, on a side note...how come the logins were done away with? It is kind of an inconvenience to no longer get an email when there is a reply to the forum. I have to routinely check and fine my id. :-(

Are you using Checkmate 5.3.1?
Can you post a screenshot of both the report and the map with the huge roads?
To login, for now you must go through the Reseller tab and login there. I will look into adding a login button in the forum page in the future.

First image is without Mappoint (strictly pulling from Shape files)

Wanted to follow up on this and, also, we are testing Windows 7. Where do the shp files get stored under windows 7? Do you have updated documentation for this?

Thanks,

Brandi

In Windows 7, the Checkmate folder is located in: C:\ProgramData\Geotab\Checkmate
You would store the files there the same way as you would've in XP.
As for an updated document, we our currently working on a number of new documents one of which is an updated ESRI map document.

Thanks, but the follow up I was referring to was on the developers looking into the issue of enlarged maps. Any progress on this issue?

Hi Brandi,

I looked over the case, in which you spoke with another support engineer here at Geotab.
And from there it seems that it was a bad geo file that was causing the huge roads.
Is this not correct?
