An improvement has been made to the J1939\CAN ignition detection algorithm to prevent potentially affecting the instrument cluster while attempting to detect the J1939 protocol in specific J1939 (diesel) vehicles. In addition, Geotab has also resolved an issue with ignition detection in J1850 vehicles (specifically Chevrolet vehicles model year 2005 and older).
Customers are required to update to Checkmate 5.5 for this firmware update in order to continue receiving system exception rules such as harsh braking, Power reset, Brown out reset and GPS Antenna Open/Short circuit logs.
Firmware 80.7.14 and newer will be deployed to all vehicles via the store and forward server by August 17, 2010 to allow time for customers to upgrade to Checkmate 5.5. Checkmate 5.5 will be deployed to MY Servers automatically and can be downloaded directly from
http://checkmate.geotab.com for local installations. GO4 RF and GO4 Wi-Fi versions will also be deployed via Checkmate internet update.
If you require the firmware to be sent over the air before this date, please email Geosupport@geotab.com
