To get a device to acquire a GPS position while the ignition is off one can perform the following:
In checkmate, under Logging Parameters, select the 'Ensure Hot Start' Parameter. If this parameter is selected, the unit will wake up every 60 minutes for 2 minutes to attempt to acquire a satellite latch and will record GPS position at the time of latch.
