Posted By MrDowlut on 09 Jun 2010 11:20 AM Hello I noticed that Geotab checkmate application is now moving up very quickly, and this is great. Version 5.5 is on its way, and I also read about version 6 coming up soon as well. Normally, upgrade of Geotab application\database is also very easy. Please advise if we should upgrade our internal application (using SDK) when upgrading checkmate? Will we be able to host our database locally as well, or both locally and MyGeotab? Thank you
hi,
Version 5.5 is currently in Beta testing phase, you can try it out through our demo.
As for SDK based apps, you will at the very least have to recompile them but might have to modify them if/when you upgrade to 5.5 it is hard to tell in advance.
Finally, Checkmate 5.5 is web server based so you can either use our MyGeotab hosted solution or you can host your own Checkmate web server and the users would connect via Internet Explorer (
http://servername/).
