If it says searching then it is likely a drivers issue. I would recommend speaking with your dealer for assistance, however if you feel able to resolve it yourself then try the following steps: > Turn off the Checkmate service( Administration->Options->Services -> Uncheck Enable Checkmate Service) > Close Checkmate > UNinstall the USB Key Downloader drivers through device manager, check the box that says you want to delete the drivers > Unplug the downloader > go to the Checkmate folder and delete the Drivers folder and rename the data_manager.config file > Restart the computer > Start Checkmate, enable the checkmate services, make sure that the USB Key downloader service is enabled (under advanced). Click on OK > Plug in your USB Key Downloader > Go to Read Key Info (Vehicles & Devices->Troubleshooting->) -> This will download the drivers If the drivers were not installed, then re-scan for any hardware changes (through device manager) and they should install if they don't point windows to the drivers folder within the Geotab\Checkmate\ folder > GO back to Read Key Info, it should now say "Please Insert Key"

When you go to Vehicles & Devices->Troubleshooting & Accidents->Read Key Info, does it say Disconnected , Searching or Please Insert Key If it says Please insert key, what happens when you insert the key? |

I currently run a passive GO system and today I find that my key is not working. I get the double beep when inserted into the vehicles, but when I insert into the downloader it doesnt seem to find the key? The key beeps once when inserted, but I am unable to connect to it. I have tried checking the USB ports and troubleshooting in device manager. Any suggestions? |
