What do the CheckMate logging parameters mean?

These definitions are for the most commonly used logging parameters in CheckMate.  Please note: LOGGING PARAMETERS CANNOT BE CHANGED FOR LIVE UNITS

Delta Speed is speed that will cause Geotab Unit to log when you are travelling at least the Delta Min Speed
The delta min speed cannot be lower than 6 km/h.

Delta Heading is the change in heading in degrees that will cause Geotab unit to log a point when you a travelling at least the delta heading min speed.
Again the delta heading min speed should not be lower than 6 km/h.  By decreasing the value of delta heading, you are making the unit more sensitive to turns. Eg, only a turn greater than 48 degrees will be logged by default (when travelling at least the delta heading min speed.

Delta Heading HS is the change in heading in degrees that will cause Geotab unit to log a point when you a travelling at least the delta heading min speed HS.  The reason for the delta heading HS is because you want the unit to be more sensitive at high speeds since it will make turns less sharply.

Max Log Time is the maximum number of seconds the unit will wait before it logs a point.  The recommended value is 200 seconds.  Decreasing this value will cause more points to be logged.

Harsh Brake Delta Speed determines when harsh braking is logged.  Change in speed of x mph in one second.

Ensure Hot Start wakes up the unit every hour and acquires a GPS lock.  It is required that the GPS antenna has direct line of sight to the sky overnight. This ensures that when a vehicle starts a trip, the GPS will lock much faster.
