Geotab is seeking a Government Solutions Engineer who is technically oriented, yet has the passion and skill to explain complex technical concepts to Geotab customers. The Government Solutions Engineer will organize and own key integration projects for Geotab customers and partners. What are the details of this position:

As a Solution Engineer, you will become familiar with all areas of the Geotab product suite, and contribute to pre-sales opportunities at all technical levels, with a strong focus on government sales opportunities. You will be engaged from the start on new and existing opportunities and challenges to expand Geotab’s footprint in the telematics industry.

Day-to-day, you will be responsible for assisting the Government Business Development team in pre-sales activities, running product pilots, responding to Request for Proposals (RFPs) and managing special strategic projects as required. You will leverage your knowledge in all aspects of the Geotab product suite to devise and build solutions to exceed end user expectations. This role will also support requests for both software and hardware product integrations.  

To be a successful in this position, you will be a strong multi-tasker with excellent time and project management skills to properly monitor and prioritize various projects. This position involves travel to on-site locations in order to provide in-person support to customers where necessary. You will work alongside the Sales, Software Development, Embedded Systems, Engineering Support, and Partner Account Management teams.

Duties and Tasks/Essential Functions:

  • Manage pilot programs for new potential customers.
  • Participate and lead engineering product and integration projects.
  • Learn and maintain technical knowledge of the Geotab ecosystem.
  • Support end-user requirements in special projects.
  • Manage third party and Marketplace integrations.
  • Build and maintain industry specific custom reports.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining new Geotab products.
  • Act as a point of escalation for opportunities with existing clients.
  • Frequent travel to Canadian Headquarter office (Oakville, ON).

  • Experience/Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • Must be an American citizen residing in the United States
  • 2+ years experience in a technical sales role
  • Strong aptitude for understanding technical and business requirements
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with OBD or SAE vehicle standards Technical experience using SQL, C#, JavaScript or Google BigQuery an asset
  • PMP Certification is an asset
  • NATO SECRET PSC is an asset
  • Must complete U.S. government background check if required
