Geotab is seeking a Government Operations Manager to lead our growing government division.  The Government Operations Manager will work collaboratively across multiple functional areas to ensure processes, systems, and team members adhere to the strictest level of contractual compliance.  Further the Government Operations Manager will work closely with Geotab’s Legal, IT/Security, and Sales department to ensure new customers, contractual changes, and new legislation are adopted comprehensively throughout Geotab’s Government Support Division.  The success of this role will be reflected in the operational compliance of all supporting government teams, proactive solutions to changes in legislation or contractual requirements, and ultimately the success of Geotab’s government customers.

What are the details of this position:

The Government Operations Manager will manage Geotab’s growing government division, comprised of four functional areas (technical support, customer on boarding, customer success and order processing) to support Geotab’s government customers.  This role will ensure operational compliance of Geotab’s government contracts and will routinely audit team members, processes, systems, and data to ensure the strictest compliance. Additionally the Government Operations Manager will partner and collaborate with Legal, IT/ Security, Sales, and supporting functional leaders to remain current with new government business opportunities, legislative changes (and impact), and IT/ Security architecture (specifically around data flow). In addition, they will collaborate with the supporting department heads to remain current on processes and systems utilized in the government division.  This position will have multiple secondary direct reports specifically for compliance adherence or operational / customer inquiries that must be addressed within the government division.

Assumptions of the role:  You are a SME in servicing/ executing government contracts (to include FEDRAMP / NIST 800-53). You have experience partnering / collaborating with executives to define processes and pull through contractual / legislative requirements into operational performance.  You are an inspirational leader and you pair your own success with that of your team. To be successful you will be a self-starter with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.  You will have the ability to quickly understand complex technical concepts and proactively seek out SMEs in all functional areas to fill knowledge gaps.  You will be comfortable diving into large and complex data sets to discover trends/ insights that will ultimately shape business processes. You will find new ways of improving your teams performance and continually raise the bar. You’re a strong collaborator, skilled problem solver and love a good challenge.


Your Responsibilities:

  • Partner with relevant stakeholders (Legal, IT/ Security, Sales, Department heads)  to identify operational compliance needs
  • Stay abreast of contractual, legislative and administrative changes that could impact the compliance of Geotabs government division
  • Routinely perform end to end audits of team members, processes, systems and data to ensure compliance
  • Provide front line support for team member and customer questions
  • Manage a diverse of team of 15+ employees including 1st line managers
  • Partner with functional managers to evaluate team member performance
  • Maintain working proficiency of all assigned teams core competencies
  • Work alongside the Retention department to understand at risk customers and identity solutions to mitigate churn
  • Capitalize on customer feedback, support tickets and request to synthesize meaningful and strategic improvements to Geotabs products and services
  • Evaluate the quality and relevancy of teams work, design action plans where needed
  • Successfully navigate escalations to include complex client deployments, customer retention efforts and other escalations as required
  • Complete ongoing market research (industry trends in the 1 - 3 year time range), stay current on existing and new Geotab products, services and partnership.  Remain at the forefront of the government support space by attending relevant conferences, seminars etc. Be knowledgeable of our competitors products, services and approach to the Customer Experience
  • Proficiency in in Salesforce, Zendesk and Jira
  • Write one blog post per year


  • Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (business or technology related) or 7 years equivalent experience required (MBA strongly preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years supporting Government contracts (ideally in a Saas model)
  • Experience ope-rationalizing FEDRAMP / NIST 800-53 ect requirements
  • Experience leading a team > 10 with at least one level of management
  • Experience in a high growth environment highly desired
  • New system evaluation and implementation a plus
  • Highly organized and focused
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Systems experience preferred particularly with Google work platform and Salesforce
