What are the details of this position:

Geotab is looking for an individual who has general HR experience and is particularly interested in talent acquisition and general HR administration. The ideal candidate is someone who can understand business requirements from various departments, and partner with these managers to assist them with employee growth and development. When recruiting, the candidate will need to understand the technical aspects of the roles to be able to recruit top technical talent. The successful candidate must be very organized,  proactive, detail-oriented individual and a dependable team player.  The ideal candidate is well versed in employment legislation and is able to interpret and develop policies to ensure organizational compliance.  In this role, the candidate will be responsible for handling employee relations issues and must be professional, tactful and maintain confidentiality.



Duties and Tasks of this Position:

  • Provide support to employees in various HR related topics such as leaves, compensation etc. and resolve issues and problems
  • Provide support to management on issues relating to performance management; assist with PIP’s, corrective actions, requests for terminations
  • Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace
  • Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies
  • Provide best in class support on employee relations issues
  • Manage internal investigations when required; produce findings and recommended course of action.
  • Collaborate with the HR team and department managers regarding recruitment needs and fulfillment
  • Work with the manager to understand the technical roles in order to recruit top technical candidates
  • Assist Talent Acquisition team with the full cycle recruitment process as required. May include creation of job descriptions, job offers and submission of background checks
  • Participate, when required, in Health and Safety meetings
  • Become a Geotab culture ambassador 
  • Other HR related projects as required


  • Experience/Skills Required:

  • University degree such as Human Resources, Business Admin, Management or Psychology.  Other degrees also considered.
  • CHRP/CHRL preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in Human Resources
  • Solid understanding of Ontario employment and Human Rights Legislation
  • Intermediate knowledge of either MS Excel or Google Sheets
  • Confident with an entrepreneurial approach to recruitment
  • Ability to utilize social media and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Superior verbal and written communication
  • Able to work independently and in a self-starting manner
  • Be excited about growth and adaptable to changing priorities
