What are the details of this position:

In this role, you will develop key relationships with Smart City leaders across North America. The role focuses on both increasing awareness and developing strategic Smart City opportunities and partnerships. A strong understanding of the value of Geotab’s open IoT platform will be critical in this role. You will work closely with Sales, Operations, and our Data and Analytics teams to ensure business opportunities are converted into commercial opportunities and programs. You will also be responsible for integrating strategic sales opportunities and strategies with existing Government Business Development initiatives, and maximize cross-sales.  

Duties and Tasks/Essential Functions:

  • Complete primary and secondary market research to position Geotab’s Smart City capabilities for widespread adoption.
  • Work closely with AVP, Government & Smart City to develop a Smart City strategy to engage with government Smart City stakeholders (federal, state/provincial, and local municipalities).
  • Develop and execute a Smart City engagement plan and business plan directly targeting “spotlight cities” throughout North America and abroad.
  • Answer directly or assist resellers with strategically important Smart City or Government fleet RFI/RFP/RFQ inquiries while maintaining Geotab’s best interests.
  • Act as an intermediary for Smart City customers to internal Data and Analytics and Engineering teams to manage and deliver on strategic Smart City pilots and projects.
  • Work collaboratively with AVP, Government & Smart City to ensure all opportunities align correctly with the overall Government Sales strategy.
  • Work closely with AVP, Government & Smart City to identify and convert strategic sales opportunities.  
  • Develop and nurture relationships with third party partners so they can effectively leverage the Geotab platform and extend its value to Smart City opportunities.
  • Attend trade shows and conferences to remain educated and influence Smart City technology trends.
  • Develop a strategy to position Geotab within the Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) space, and build business cases for the addition of new capabilities where required.

  • Experience/Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Urban Development Planning, Statistics, Economics or equivalent 3+ years experience in a data driven private sector and public sector sales and/or contracting
  • Technically competent software programs, including but not limited to Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides) and Smartsheet
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment. Project Management experience a plus
  • SalesForce experience a plus
  • Experience with SQL, JavaScript, and Data Visualization tools is a plus
  • Strong analytical and project management skills with an ability to identify needs, develop effective solutions, and manage projects through completion.
