Geotab is seeking a Solutions Engineer who is technically oriented, yet has the passion and skill to explain complex technical concepts to Geotab customers. The Solutions Engineer will organize and own key integration projects for Geotab customers and partners. What are the details of this position:

As a Solutions Engineer, you will become familiar with all areas of the Geotab product suite, and contribute to pre-sales opportunities at all technical levels. You will be engaged from the start on exciting new opportunities and challenges to expand Geotab’s footprint in the telematics industry. Day-to-day, you will be responsible for assisting Ryder in all ongoing technical projects. You will leverage your knowledge in all aspects of the Geotab product suite to devise and build solutions to exceed expectations. This role will also support requests for both software and hardware product integrations.    

To be a successful in this position, you will be a strong multitasker with excellent time management skills to properly monitor and prioritize various projects. You will work alongside the Sales, Software Development, Embedded Systems, Engineering Support, and Partner Account Management teams.

Duties and Tasks/Essential Functions:

  • Act as a main point of contact for a large fleet.
  • Required to directly support customer’s IT Team with face-to-face meetings on a daily basis to support ongoing integration efforts.
  • Support ongoing new feature requests and fixing bugs identified by customer.
  • Support  projects with the Alternative Fuels Team and alternative solutions.
  • Work on-site in Miami to provide ongoing training and support.
  • Remain current on all SDK changes and features within the Geotab ecosystem.
  • Run, build queries with the Big Data team to create custom reports for the customer.
  • Learn and maintain technical knowledge of the Geotab ecosystem.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining new Geotab products.
  • Attend regular check-in meetings (virtual and in-person) with Solutions Engineering team based out of HQ (Oakville, Ontario, Canada.

  • Experience/Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field of study
  • 2+ years experience in a technical sales or technically focused role
  • Experience working with SQL
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of OBD or SAE vehicle standards
  • Technical experience using Python, C#, JavaScript or Google BigQuery an asset
  • Strong aptitude for understanding technical and business requirements
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
