Geotab is seeking an Asset Tracking Business Development Manager who will be responsible for growing Geotab’s asset tracking business in North America and the world. What are the details of this position:

As an Asset Tracking Business Development Manager, your key area of responsibility will be to increase Geotab’s asset tracking business globally. To be successful in this role you will need to have experience in business development, account management, be a self-starter, organized with strong sales and training skills. In addition the successful candidate will have strong communication and presentation skills with an ability to engage and captivate an audience.



Duties and Tasks/Essential Functions:

  • Increase sales through engagement of stakeholders that are part of the asset tracking ecosystem.  Specifically, the Asset Tracking Business Development Manager will be responsible for engaging Trailer OEM’s, Trailer Technology Manufacturers, Trailer Distributors, Container Manufacturers and Geotab Resellers.
  • Train key partners’ employees on Geotab products and platform, via in-person meetings, lunch-and-learn opportunities, platform training, webinars and participating in customer calls and appointments.
  • Educate assigned partners employees on Geotab’s security processes/procedures and data analytic capabilities.   
  • Present Geotab solutions to stakeholders and prospective customers to assist in the sales process.
  • Identify new areas for growth and propose programs for initiatives accordingly.
  • Maintain and create account development business plans.
  • Provide requested feedback to management for reporting.
  • Closely monitor program objectives and provide critical performance feedback to management for reporting and forecasting. 
  • Maintain industry knowledge and news updates within Geotab and trucking industry.
  • Build and maintain relationships with channel stakeholders to ensure leads are actively qualified and managed, providing continuous feedback to internal and external partners. 
  • Conduct continuous lead management to maintain pipeline of prospective customers within Salesforce by assisting your partners in gathering key customer information.
  • Build company credibility, brand value, and trust with your stakeholders.
  • Gain knowledge, insight and understanding from key decision-makers regarding customer needs/challenges. 
  • Attend Geotab Corporate meetings as needed.
  • Participate in Geotab sponsored Training and Development events, courses, webinars and coaching.
  • Participate in sales and channel development strategies to assist the company in optimizing information related to the industry and customer needs of key stakeholders.


  • Experience/Skills Required:

  • Strong computer and technical skills.
  • Strong sales background with a proven record of success. 
  • Ability to travel, domestic and international - up to 70% - Passport required.
  • Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must have strong time management skills as well as be an effective multi-tasker. 
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills.
  • Knowledge of Google Office Platform including Slides for the purpose of producing training materials and presentations. 
  • Must have excellent reading comprehension skills as well as the ability to be an active listener.
  • Must have strong critical thinking and analytical skills. 
  • Must have good problem solving and decision making skills.
