Geotab is actively seeking a Business Development Manager who should be able to quickly contribute to the developing relationships with key Geotab Resellers and Partners throughout Australia. What are the details of this position:

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing relationships with Geotab Resellers and executing on these strategic sales opportunities. This role focuses on  finding opportunities to grow the Reseller network inline with corporate objectives for growth. You will work closely with regional colleagues in a dynamic startup environment to build Geotab’s presence in Australia with support of Solutions Engineering, Sales, and Operations teams from HQ. 

A strong understanding of the value of Geotab’s open IoT platform will be critical in this role, as well as the ability to support accounts through onboarding and/or integrations to successful conversion. The successful candidate is a self-starter with an entrepreneurial flair to his or her work style as well as strong time management, presentation and communication skills. The successful candidate will also be able to manage multiple timelines and contrasting priorities to ensure timely results. 

Duties and Tasks/Essential Functions:

  • Work closely with VP, Australia on Business Development and Channel Sales strategy to engage prospective accounts
  • Conduct primary and secondary market research to position Geotab’s platform for widespread adoption in specified region
  • Identify new areas for growth; propose and manage programs and initiatives accordingly
  • Present Geotab’s solution to increase sales from engagement to complete conversion of prospected stakeholders
  • Continuous lead management to maintain pipeline of prospective accounts within Salesforce
  • Occasionally act as an intermediary for Resellers and Partners to internal Engineering teams to manage and deliver on strategic projects 
  • Training and developing various stakeholders on Geotab products and platform, via in-person meetings, platform training, and participating in customer calls and appointments
  • Attend trade shows and conferences to build company credibility, brand presence and identify potential new stakeholders 
  • Closely monitor program objectives and provide critical performance feedback to management for reporting and forecasting 
  • Virtually attend Geotab Corporate meetings as needed; some international travel may be required as well as frequent interstate travel
  • Enthusiastically participating in Geotab sponsored Training and Development events, courses, webinars and coaching

  • Experience/Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Marketing, Social Sciences, or related
  • Strong business development background with proven record of success 
  • Experience in Fleet Management, Smart Cities, Transport, Mining industries an asset
  • Experience recruiting new Resellers
  • Technically competent with software programs, including but not limited to Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides) and Salesforce
  • Strong analytical and project management skills with an ability to identify needs, develop effective solutions, and manage projects through completion
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
