Geotab is seeking a Talent Acquisition & HR Specialist who will assist with Geotab’s aggressive growth plans for 2019. This role will lead recruitment efforts for Geotab’s offices in Europe and assist with global efforts as required. What are the details of this position:

As a Talent Acquisition & HR Specialist your key area of responsibility will be to coordinate the day-to-day requirements of Geotab’s recruitment life-cycle, from building job descriptions, conducting phone screen interviews, to in-person interviews, and candidate recommendations for hiring managers. Your focus will be the recruitment of positions including Business Development & Account Managers, Project Managers and Engineers. You will be required to use our ATS in combination with Google Sheets to input recruitment data, generate reports and analyze global recruitment metrics. You will need to work closely with each hiring manager to clearly understand the role and expectations. You will also work closely with the Geotab HR team, academic partners, and external recruitment agencies.

To be successful in this role you will be a passionate employer brand evangelist! You will need to have experience hiring top technical and non-technical talent. You will be well versed in understanding industry-specific jargon and core competencies to easily recognize the best possible talent for Geotab’s growing teams! Excellent writing and verbal communication is required. As we are a fast growing, dynamic team you will be an organized individual that has the ability to manage multiple projects!

Duties and Tasks/Essential Functions:

  • Meet quarterly with European hiring managers to ensure you understand the roles and future requests
  • Write new role job descriptions for approval, understanding each role in detail
  • Work with HR leadership team in understanding compensation for all new roles
  • Post roles on job boards, Geotab’s Careers Page, and school websites
  • Use recruitment tools (such as LinkedIn Recruiter) to fill niche positions
  • Work closely with selected recruitment agencies for specific staffing requirements
  • Screen resumes, conduct phone screens, administer employment assessments, and facilitate in-person interviews. Excellent communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process is imperative.
  • Create pipelines for technical roles and work with management on executing the recruitment strategy
  • Leverage/Utilize ATS to present detailed and accurate metrics on time-to-fill, candidate sourcing, etc.; submit reports to managers as requested
  • Keep recruitment and forecasting documentation up to date
  • Research and source appropriate career fairs in order to identify potential student interns or full time candidates and initiate communications
  • Promote Geotab employer brand on social profiles, keep Geotab Careers website continuously updated
  • Work with European team to coordinate on-boarding activities to ensure a great experience for new hires
  • Liaise with European and HR team on other items including employee introductions, travel arrangements, Geotab swag
  • Act as a substitute for presenting the Geotab first day on-boarding presentations
  • Act as a HR point of contact for employees in Europe
  • Escalate issues to HR Manager & AVP Human Resources as required
  • Develop an understanding of Geotab policies and advise on policy interpretation
  • Work with HR team on policy development and Geotab perks to assist retention efforts

  • Experience/Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Commerce or Social Sciences (other degrees also considered)
  • 3+ years experience in an in-house or agency recruitment position, servicing technical and non-technical roles
  • Experience with high volume recruitment and interviewing
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple requests at one time
  • Excellent verbal communication and professional writing skills
  • Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter, applicant tracking systems, and Google Business Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) an asset
  • Background in HR or professional certification in Human Resources is an asset
  • Agile and available to travel within Europe and to Head Office in Canada
  • Additional languages considered an asset  (especially French, German, Italian and Spanish)
