What are the details of this position:

Geotab is actively seeking a person who has studied technical engineering at a university level, and who also has technical experience and with training, will be able to quickly contribute to the Solutions Engineering Team. The candidate must have thorough knowledge of the ELD and HOS regulations, and the technology needed to comply. The Solutions Specialist must have the ability to explain how the Geotab technology simplifies drivers’ and fleets’ compliance. In this role you will work in the Solutions Engineering team to be a crucial part of supporting ELD Products in the USA, Canada and other global markets.


Duties and Tasks/Essential Functions:

  • Use knowledge of the ELD and Hours of Service regulations to assist in sales presentations
  • Consult with fleets to understand needs for compliance solutions (ie. ELD, DVIR and IFTA)
  • Travel as necessary to assist resellers and Partner Account Managers (PAMs) on presenting the Geotab Drive solution
  • Travel as necessary to provide support in strategic ELD Pilot projects for large customer opportunities (including training and onboarding)
  • Demonstrate the flexibility of the Geotab Drive application with add-ins and Marketplace partners to meet the broader needs of drivers in the cab
  • Ability to explain Geotab’s open platform, add-ins, and APIs 
  • Meet with customers and resellers to provide overview of Geotab’s ELD solution and speak to the roadmap
  • Collaborate with resellers to gather and understand customer business requirements to develop pilot proposal documentation
  • Setup and maintain database rules, including creation of customized reports
  • Lead weekly overview meetings and maintain detailed meeting notes and pilot documentation for stakeholder use
  • Assist in creating reseller business case for deploying Geotab fleet wide at the conclusion of the pilot program
  • Updating processes and procedures as needed


  • Experience/Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business or Technical degree preferred)
  • 1+ years technical sales experience with ELD and/or the telematics industry
  • Expertise with Google business products — proficiency in Sheets, Documents, Slides
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Strong aptitude in understanding technical and business requirements
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills 
  • Must be highly organized, task oriented and have a strong team orientation
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills, product management, with the ability to apply technical knowledge
  • Bilingualism is an asset
  • International travel required so US passport needed
