Who we are looking for:

We are looking for a Security Project Manager to identify and manage key projects and initiatives relating to Geotab Security Programs. The projects will vary in scope, complexity, and affected business area(s). We are looking for an experienced project management professional with a technical background who is comfortable working with key stakeholders in all areas of the business.

What are the details of this position:

The Security Project Manager will be responsible for creating and managing a project’s scope, project plan, and it’s deliverables. You will be required to work closely with project stakeholders, involving them in key business decisions - this includes being responsible for the implementation of the project tasks, as well as managing day-to-day activities. As the Security Project Manager, you will be required to provide regular status reports to key stakeholders, to ensure the project is on time and meeting expectations. You will need to work closely with all Geotab teams, so that you are able to perform your job to the highest level. 

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong written and verbal presentation and communication skills, and holds the ability to quickly understand complex, technical concepts. In addition, the successful candidate will have strong analytical, business and project management skills with an ability to identify needs, develop effective solutions, and manage projects through to completion. The successful candidate will also be able to manage multiple timelines and contrasting priorities to ensure timely results. 

Duties and Tasks/Essential Functions:

  • Assist in developing, implementing and maintaining Geotab’s “IT Security Plan” 
  • Responsible for submitting applications for, and maintaining IT Security Accreditations
  • Devise and develop a security plan risk assessment, security tests and evaluations, disaster recovery plan/continuity of operations plan
  • Conduct internal assessments of cybersecurity risks and vulnerability 
  • Work with government assessment teams to enable them to understand and test Geotab systems, develop a Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) to remediate any deficiencies/vulnerabilities within the specified time frame after detection
  • Develop project plans and schedules, monitor tasks and deliverables
  • Manage project risks, including the development of contingency plans
  • Develop policies and procedures to support the achievement of the project objectives
  • Coordinate and manage project activities across internal teams (Operations, Legal, Marketing, Engineering, Sales, Admin)
  • Report project status to key project stakeholders on an ongoing basis
  • Conduct project post mortems in order to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations based on findings

  • Experience/Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or a related field
  • 3+ years of cross-functional project management experience in a technology industry
  • Experience in compliance, privacy or security risk management (including vendor risk)
  • Strong aptitude in understanding technical and business requirements
  • Outstanding presentation, facilitation (security/privacy training courses), communication, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent analytical, administrative, time management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to drive projects with little oversight
  • Google business products — proficient in spreadsheets, documents, slides
  • High proficiency in the Geotab product suite is an asset
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus
