Singapore - September 8, 2023 - The transportation sector is one of the largest contributors to carbon emissions in Southeast Asia (SEA) and one that is well placed to drive electrification in the short term. Over the past several years, SEA has witnessed a significant transformation in the commercial sector with a surge in the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs). According to Mordor Intelligence, the ASEAN EV market is expected to grow from USD 0.86 billion in 2023 to USD 3.54 billion by 2028, at a CAGR of 32.73% during the forecast period (2023-2028).This shift is not just a testament to technological advancements but also to the power of data intelligence. - According to Geotab's 'Greening the Fleet' survey, 54% of fleet professionals are embracing EVs. They're witnessing reduced fuel use and CO2 emissions, showcasing a future driven by informed choices. Interestingly, 69% of respondents reported that their fleet sustainability data helped reduce operating costs in the past year.

- Shaziman Transport, a petroleum transportation company operating in Southeast Asia, adopted Geotab's telematics system to enhance sustainability while transporting various petroleum products and chemicals. By implementing predictive maintenance, managing driver behavior, reducing idling, and analyzing data insights, Shaziman successfully reduced carbon emissions, minimized fuel waste, and improved overall environmental performance.
Data from a wide range of makes and models
- Despite the rapid growth of the EV industry, SEA fleet managers face the challenge of a lack of standardized vehicle information.
