A dash cam to suit your fleet's unique needs
The complete picture, for a safer fleet.
Video and telematics fully integrated in one platform, giving you everything you need to reduce risk, protect your drivers, and manage your fleet.
Collision prevention
AI detects risky behaviours like tailgating, distraction, and harsh braking. Video evidence supports faster analysis when incidents occur.
Protecting drivers
Real-time in-cab alerts coach drivers in the moment, before risks become incidents.
Risk reduction
Video evidence protects your drivers from false claims and supports compliance obligations.
Safety alerts and coaching
In-cab alerts notify drivers of risky behaviour in the moment. Event-based recording keeps coaching targeted, not time-consuming.
Operational efficiency
AI vision technology automatically detects and categorises risky events, streamlines reporting and improves fleet oversight.
Cost savings
Reduce expenses related to accidents, insurance claims, and vehicle damage by proactively managing and mitigating risks.
How do fleet dash cams work
1. Dash cam starts recording video. Our dash cams operate using power from vehicle batteries via a wired connection. Cameras will only start recording when a vehicle engine is turned on and in motion to avoid unnecessary battery drain. If an impact is detected while the vehicle is parked, the camera will automatically wake and begin recording to capture the event.
2. AI connected sensors capture risky driving events. HD footage is recorded constantly when a vehicle is in motion. Footage is captured day or night with infrared LEDs for clear quality video and wide angle lenses for both road facing and driver facing cameras.
3. High-definition footage and alert data are saved to the cloud. Driver journey footage and alerting data are uploaded to the cloud, so fleet managers can view video and image data at any time.
4. Fleet managers can easily review pictures and videos within MyGeotab. You’ll be alerted when video is available to watch and download on the MyGeotab platform. See HD dash cam footage alongside GPS data so you know who the driver was, how fast they were going and where they were located.
Protect your business with fleet camera systems
The GO Focus family of AI-powered video telematics delivers high-definition video evidence that proves what happened in collisions and insurance disputes — accurately representing incidents, exonerating drivers who aren’t at fault, and protecting your fleet from exaggerated claims, fraud, and nuclear verdicts.
For additional security and fleet safety, auxiliary cameras can be connected to monitor vehicle interiors, equipment and other high value assets.

Expand your visibility with auxiliary cameras
Essential for eliminating dangerous blind spots and providing proactive safety for your fleet. They offer full 360° visibility of vehicles and low-profile hazards, with the ability to provide advanced warnings before collisions occur.
For tasks like mastering tight spaces, the zero-latency backup monitor provides immediate, crystal-clear visual feedback.

Frequently asked questions
What is ADAS and DMS?
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are electronic systems in vehicles that use AI to aid the driver. They include features like lane departure warning, forward collision warning and stop sign violations. Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS) are systems that use cameras and AI sensors to monitor driver attentiveness, fatigue and behaviour to improve safety on the road.
What is computer vision?
Computer vision is a field of AI that enables computers to interpret and understand visual information from images and videos. In vehicle cameras, computer vision is used for tasks such as object detection and recognition.
What is edge computing?
For fleets, edge computing means processing data, such as video footage, alerts, and sensor readings, directly within the vehicle, instead of sending everything to a central server. This enables faster response times for safety events, real-time alerts, and more efficient use of bandwidth.
What fleet dash cam options does Geotab have?
Geotab provides the GO Focus family including road-facing and dual-camera options, plus third-party solutions through their Marketplace.
Why are dash cams important for commercial fleets?
They help save money through fraud prevention, provide operational visibility, personalise coaching, reduce collisions through alerts, and detect driver behaviour issues.
What is the advantage of Geotab's dash cam solutions?
Instant feedback helps correct risky driving before incidents and reduces collision rates across the fleet. Critical events and repeat patterns are surfaced first, so managers spend less time sorting and target coaching where it drives improvement. Every alert links to a follow-up. Managers track progress and recognise safer driving in one connected workflow.
How do fleet dash cam systems work? When is video saved?
Cameras capture video triggered by telematics or ADAS/DMS events, customisable by fleet, with video available for review in MyGeotab. Video is also saved to rolling local storage on the camera, so you can retrieve specific periods of trip footage when needed.
What camera data is recorded with an event?
Options include snapshot and video, snapshot only, video only, or disabled recording.
Can I download the videos?
Most fleet dash cam solutions allow for digital downloads of recordings, but each solution is different.
How do you install Geotab-integrated fleet dash cams?
Some solutions support self-install; others require certified professional installation.
What features do Geotab-integrated dash cams come with?
Features range from live streaming and on-demand video, to infrared, ADAS and much more.
How long does footage stay on the dash cam?
Varies by solution; memory can be adjusted based on customer requirements.
How do I check my dash cam footage?
MyGeotab platform supports viewing and managing dash-cam video from GO Focus devices, with integrated viewing available.
Can a fleet dash cam integrate with GPS tracking?
Yes, all camera solutions integrate with MyGeotab alongside telematics data.
Are Geotab fleet dash cams suitable for all types of commercial vehicles?
Yes, available for heavy-duty, medium-duty, light-duty trucks, vans, and passenger vehicles.
How can fleet dash cams help with driver safety?
They enable real-time visibility, coaching support, collision evidence, and incident notifications.
Do the cameras operate through Wi-Fi?
Every camera solution is different. Some solutions may operate through Wi-Fi while others utilise cellular.
Does a dash cam drain battery?
Fleet dash cams consume very little power and are generally considered to be safe in terms of battery life.
How long after unsafe driving occurs will I be able to review my video?
Varies by solution — some provide real-time streaming; others upload after events occur.
