Receiving the award

Milton Keynes, United Kingdom (09 May 2025) – Geotab, the global leader in connected transportation solutions, has been awarded the ‘Innovation in Risk Management’ award at the 2025 Great British Fleet Awards for the second consecutive year, recognising the company’s industry-leading approach to fleet safety, driver behaviour and proactive risk reduction.

Held in Milton Keynes, the annual event honours outstanding contributions across the UK fleet sector. Geotab’s win reflects its pioneering use of telematics, AI and integrated video to help fleet operators create safer environments for drivers, passengers and the public.

Aaron Jarvis, Vice President, Sales and Business Development, EMEA, said: “We’re incredibly proud to win this award – not just because it highlights our commitment to innovation, but because it speaks directly to the real-world impact our technology is having on fleets across the UK. From reducing incidents to supporting driver well-being, this recognition is proof that smarter data leads to safer outcomes.”

The award win was based on Geotab’s work with the HATS Group, a leading provider of patient transport services. Faced with rising insurance claims and driver safety challenges, HATS deployed Geotab’s advanced risk management solution – combining GO9 telematics devices with Lytx Surfsight AI-enabled dash cams. The results were dramatic: a 78% reduction in incident frequency and a 96% drop in claims costs across the trial fleet.

The high-tech Geotab solution uses machine vision and AI to provide real-time in-cab coaching; flag risky behaviours like mobile phone use or seatbelt non-compliance; and offer data-backed insights to fleet managers for targeted interventions. The system has helped HATS shift from reactive to proactive safety management – in the process improving compliance, lowering costs and ultimately making roads safer.

With over 4 million vehicles connected globally, Geotab’s solutions are trusted by fleets of all sizes to deliver measurable performance improvements. This latest industry accolade reflects a growing shift in the UK market – where safety, sustainability and ROI are no longer competing priorities, but shared outcomes enabled by smart data.
