Great British Fleet Awards 2024

London, United Kingdom (7 May, 2024) Geotab Inc, a global market leader in connected transportation solutions, celebrated the accolade as the top supplier in the Innovation in Risk Management category at The Great British Fleet Awards.

According to the British Safety Council, approximately 40,000 people are injured in work-related driving incidents each year, and the Geotab Safety Center addresses the crucial issue of fleet safety in the UK. Thanks to the introduction of the AI-enabled Safety Center, launched at Geotab Connect 24 in Las Vegas in January, fleet and safety managers can easily uncover and manage fleet performance risks, focusing their time on coaching and making operational decisions based on objective data, predictive collision analytics and peer fleet benchmarking.

This new, vital technology is instrumental in helping to reduce accidents on our roads and reducing insurance premiums by monitoring and improving driver behaviours.

“Safety is a top priority for everyone at Geotab, and the Safety Center's AI-driven capabilities enable fleet and safety managers to identify and assess risk with greater precision than ever before,” commented David Savage, Vice President, EMEA.

“Recognition from the esteemed Great British Fleet Awards jury, which includes some of the most respected voices within fleet, is extremely gratifying and shows we’re on the right track to improving safety for drivers, other road users, and pedestrians.”

The Safety Centre uses the latest AI tools to ensure fleet managers receive up-to-date reports to gain control over risky driving behaviours. It helps them gain insights into collision risks with predictive collision analytics, compare fleets with benchmarking reports, and discover how drivers compare to others within the same fleets.

In addition, it can leverage insights to create data-driven coaching programs, saving time and delivering impartial feedback. The tool can also create organisational alignment using shared metrics from Geotab’s data measurement tools, MyGeotab and Geotab Data Connector.

Proving its value

The Geotab Safety Center is already proving to be an extremely useful risk management tool for fleet operators.

British portable toilet hire company euroloo has utilised the Geotab Safety Center's suite of analytics coupled with dashcam cameras. This combination yielded significant insights into driver behaviour, instilling a ‘safety-first’ culture within its fleet. Through Geotab, euroloo implemented targeted coaching, leading to a 52% drop in harsh braking and a 41% reduction in harsh acceleration incidents.
