Geotab UK team members complete fundraising skydive in support of Brake, the road safety charity

Support Brake’s mission of ensuring safe mobility and healthy journeys for everyone, and supporting those impacted by road deaths and serious injury
London, United Kingdom (24 January, 2024) - Geotab Inc., the global leader in connected transportation solutions, saw members of its UK team participate in a fundraising skydive in support of Brake, the road safety charity.
The jump team completed the skydive at Skydive Langar, Nottingham in front of friends, families, colleagues and peers, diving from an altitude of more than 14,000 feet.
Brake is a national road safety charity that exists to stop deaths, serious injuries and pollution on roads, and to care for families bereaved and injured in road crashes.
Businesses across the United Kingdom operate fleets comprising some 20 million vehicles on Britain’s roads—and about 40,000 people are injured in work-related driving incidents each year. According to Brake, the chances of being involved in a work-related driving crash are as high as 1 in 500.
Despite this, however, many businesses still think that such crashes are unlikely to happen, and fail to invest adequately in responsible prevention and mitigation strategies within their fleets.
Geotab encourages businesses to promote safety throughout the organisation: from ensuring assessment and control of risks, to the establishment of policies, and compliance monitoring. By understanding these responsibilities and working collaboratively, businesses can observe benefits such as lower driver risk, fewer crashes attributed to the business, and reduced operational costs. By recognising and acting on these responsibilities together, everyone can contribute to improving road safety.
Geotab also recently won the Fleet Safety Product category at the Brake UK Fleet Champions Awards for its integration with Lytx Surfsight cameras, enabling operators to better identify and prevent many of the driving behaviours that could lead to an incident. All efforts stem from Geotab’s unwavering commitment to advocate for road safety and create a world where safer roads are a reality for all.
Geotab’s fleet safety telematics platform ensures safety is at the forefront, with numerous tools available to fleet managers such as fleet safety dashboard reports, custom safety alerts, and advanced collision avoidance systems, together with in-vehicle driver coaching to promote positive driving habits.
Following the skydive, sponsorship donations will remain open until January 31st 2024 for supporters to donate, contributing directly to the mission of Brake and to help create a world where roads are safer for everyone.
