Teamwork, Tenacity, and the Flying Disc: Jodie Rochemont on Ultimate Strategy and Resilience

Jodie Rochemont is a highly authentic and resilient leader who drives strategy and teamwork. She draws directly from the discipline and balance of yoga, the team strategy of ultimate frisbee, and the foundational principles from her mother to guide her leadership approach.

For Jodie Rochemont, leadership isn't just about managing tasks; it's about orchestrating a winning strategy. She developed this philosophy in environments where strategy, flow, and resilience are key to success. Whether she’s in the office, on the ultimate frisbee field, or a yoga mat, Jodie credits these pastimes as the foundation for her leadership lessons. This blend of collaboration, strategic flow, self-awareness, and balance directly shapes her ability to be present for herself and foster meaningful and authentic growth in the workplace.

Observer to Orchestrator

Jodie's connection to Geotab began six years before she officially joined. As a Senior Program Manager for an electronics contract manufacturer, she was a supplier, briefly interacting with Geotabs delivery managers. She was immediately struck by the team’s personal investment, intimate product knowledge, and deep commitment to establishing Geotab as a global leader—an impression that stayed with her.

As Manager of Product Delivery Management at Geotab, Jodie recognized the critical need for operational alignment. She supports a team of Product Delivery Managers, acting as a decision-maker to dismantle departmental 'silos' and bridge the gaps between Product Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Contract Manufacturing partners, ensuring her teams are aligned with the core business strategy

"Every day is different, which is part of the draw." - Jodie Rochemont

Jodie’s biggest professional accomplishment at Geotab so far has been leading the initiative to organize the PDM, Manufacturing, and SCM teams into unified, product-focused “Operational Squads.” This cultural shift has made new product timelines more predictable, effectively transforming previously separate functions into one strategic unit.

Intersecting Passions

While Jodie enjoys photography, painting, and kickboxing, her true passions are ultimate frisbee and yoga. She started playing ultimate frisbee 25 years ago after the sport's popularity led her to join a team with colleagues.

“Sports taught me teamwork, strategy, and fairness,” she says, while “ yoga brought balance, mindfulness, and self-awareness.”

She recognizes that:

“Together, these influences and the influences of many other great leaders who have crossed my path have informed how I lead at Geotab: fostering collaboration, staying grounded under pressure, and encouraging growth in my team without losing authenticity or compassion.”

Origins of Her Spirit and Inspiration

Jodie credits her mother as a powerful source of life and career inspiration. Her mother was the first female accredited FIH (International Hockey Federation) umpire in Trinidad, dedicated to field hockey. Though she never attended university, her hustle, tenacity, and commitment to her family were unmatched. Jodie recalls her mother’s selflessness in encouraging Jodie and her sister to pursue education in Canada, even though it meant being separated from them for many years.

“Looking back as a mother myself, I see the sacrifices, love, and courage that made it possible for us to fly and thrive. Her example instilled in me resilience, professionalism, compassion, and a grounded connection to my Trinidadian heritage.”

A Final Thought: The Power of Authentic Alignment

Jodie’s story is a compelling reminder that the most impactful leadership isn't just taught—it's lived. By finding the essential link between the focused strategy of the sports field and the quiet inner balance of the yoga mat, she has forged an authentic path at Geotab. She took an environment of complex moving parts and, inspired by the enduring spirit of her mother, infused it with resilience and clear purpose.

Jodie Rochemont’s journey shows us that true strength lies not in managing people, but in aligning them, transforming a collection of individuals into a powerful, cohesive force that doesn't just meet goals—it soars past them. It’s a testament to how showing up authentically for yourself gives you the power to elevate everyone around you.
