Neil is an accomplished business leader, entrepreneur and engineer who has been founding and running his own businesses since 1992. In 2000, Neil founded Geotab Inc., which is now the largest telematics company in the world, as measured by new vehicle subscriptions being added on a yearly basis. Geotab has been voted one of the 50 fastest growing tech companies in Canada and has been ranked in the top 200 in North America for the last four years. Neil at heart is an engineer and this passion keeps him involved in the day-to-day engineering and design of Geotab's systems. Neil believes that Geotab's success stems from the company's integrity, its forward thinking ideals and foremost the customer receiving the right solution. In 2015, Neil Cawse was named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Ontario.
Executive Vice President, Sales & Marketing
Colin has been part of Geotab's leadership team since its inception in North America. Prior to joining Geotab, Colin managed the Customer Support, Dealer Technical Support and Aftermarket Parts teams for Freightliner of Canada. Colin directs Geotab's global sales growth. He helped implement the telematics strategy for two of the top five fleets in North America, and routinely participates in customer and partner consulting in the use of telematics for productivity, safety, fleet, compliance and data integration. Colin has been a speaker at many telematics and related industry conferences worldwide, where his perspective and advice to his audiences focuses on sharing knowledge and best practices for companies who are developing a telematics strategy.
After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, Dario spent a few years with KPMG and then moved into the financial services industry where he worked as CFO/COO at a number of foreign banks and branches in Canada and abroad. He was generally involved in both establishing and closing down banking operations. Enjoying programming in his spare time, Dario developed a tax software package and sold the rights to it in the 1990s. In 1999, he co-founded one of the first software as a service (SaaS) companies. This combination of a technical and financial background provided a great springboard into the SaaS-based telematics field in 2012.
Vice President, Software Development
Pieter is the Vice President of Software Development and has been building large scale software solutions for 15 years. He has an honours degree in Computer Science as well as a B.Sc. in Information Technology, but his passion for programming goes back to the days of the Commodore 64. He was among the first to join the Geotab family in 2003 and has since assembled a team of 26 software engineers developing state of the art software, driving the MyGeotab solution. Pieter understands the challenges that building great software poses and is dedicated to finding innovative and creative solutions that ultimately delight our customers. When not engaging with his team or writing code, you might find him tinkering with the latest gadgets, building mobile apps, or playing hockey.
Vice President, Human Resources
Lindy Theron serves as Vice President, Human Resources. Lindy supports the acceleration of the company’s global growth through human resources leadership, recruitment and development of top industry talent, and in the building of a strong corporate culture centered on engagement, agility and innovation. Within the past 15 years, Lindy and Geotab’s human resources team have assisted in delivering end-to-end solutions in the key areas of skills, careers, succession planning, performance management, attraction and retention. Lindy has played an integral role in the establishment of corporate success worldwide through additional positions she’s held within the company, deeming her a strategic partner to all business departments.
Vice President, Embedded Systems Development
Darren is the Vice President of Embedded Systems Development at Geotab and has been writing code of some sort for over 20 years. He has a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, which helped foster a love of software with an electronics bent. He has been working with Geotab since the inception of the first North American released GO device in 2002, and officially joined the business when he moved to Canada in 2009 as the sole firmware engineer. He has grown the hardware development team to a cohesive group of 20 embedded systems engineers and developers who consistently deliver exceptional products with a focus on functionality and reliability.
Executive Vice President, Technical Services
Alan is the Executive Vice President of Technical Services and has been part of the Geotab team since its inception. He has over 20 years of information technology experience. Alan's primary responsibilities include overseeing technical support and its team of engineers; IT operations, including all internal, network, server, hosting services and security for Geotab; and all ERP and reseller portal systems. Alan has always had a passion for technology and software development. After spending a few years in the financial services industry as a credit manager, and then as a software engineer for a large software company, he then co-founded and ran a software consulting company that rapidly grew to be a successful, international company. Having both business and technical expertise and experience has allowed Alan to help Geotab grow to the great company it is today.
Executive Vice President
Dirk has been a member of the Geotab Advisory Board since 2010 and has helped advance Geotab’s global strategy, corporate practices and risk management. Dirk oversees legal and policy frameworks for data privacy, data usage and data access as a source of innovation and value for users of connected car platform services. He previously was a member of the senior executive team at Husky Injection Molding Systems. Dirk holds a law degree from Bonn University, Germany, and a doctorate in comparative law (United States/Germany) from Konstanz University, Germany. Dirk also teaches board room effectiveness in the ICD/Rotman Directors Education Program across Canada and consults with corporations in various industries. Dirk is the author of Influencing Powerful People (McGraw Hill, New York and authorized Chinese translation). With Neil Cawse, he published the white paper "Preserving Privacy and Security in the Connected Vehicle: The OBD Port on the Road Ahead."
Executive Vice President, Operations
Clive was the first official employee of Geotab South Africa and was a Board Director by the age of 26 in 1997. He grew the company to 30+ people and focused on various aspects within the organization. Clive initially had an R&D role and was involved in setting up support. He then moved his focus over to sales, establishing direct sales, dealer networks and export accounts in Africa and Australia. He joined the Geotab Canada leadership team in 2008. In 2010, Clive moved production from South Africa to local contract manufacturing in Canada, and more recently into Asia as sales have grown.
Executive Vice President, US Operations
Joey Marlow joined Geotab in October, 2015, immediately focusing on building one of Geotab’s top differentiators, the Geotab Marketplace. Under his leadership, the Marketplace has grown to over 40 industry-leading providers, offering over 200 mobile apps, software Add-Ins and hardware Add-Ons to customers around the world. Bringing his strength in providing an unparalleled customer experience, Joey oversees Geotab’s U.S. Operations and the Geotab Learning Center, leading the team to continued growth and success. Prior to Geotab, Joey Marlow was President and CEO of Strategic Telecom Solutions (STS), successfully building a multi-million dollar company and one of Inc. Magazine’s 5000 Fastest Growing Private Businesses from the ground up. STS was acquired by Geotab in late 2015, enabling the rapid growth and expansion of Geotab’s support services, channel partners and sales teams. Outside of work, Joey is an active member of Leadership Las Vegas, and a committed and passionate sponsor of Grant-A-Gift Autism Foundation.
