How it works
Every transaction is verified against live vehicle data before it clears. If anything doesn’t line up, the charge never happens.
The card is inert by default. A stolen card, a skimmed number, or a copied strip buys nothing.
The driver unlocks the card from the Geotab Drive app, with the assigned vehicle present.
Vehicle GPS is checked against the merchant’s coordinates. If the truck isn’t at the station, the charge stops here.

How is this different from the legacy fuel card I have now?
Geotab Fleet Card checks vehicle location, driver identity, and tank level before the charge clears, blocking bad charges before they happen. And it lives inside MyGeotab instead of a separate portal. It also runs on open-loop Mastercard rails, so it works across every vehicle class on one account rather than splitting local and long-haul across two programs.§
Is this only for fuel?
No. Fuel, maintenance, repairs, towing, tolls, parking, and other operating expenses, across twelve controllable categories. For example, set a card to "fuel only," or "fuel plus repairs up to $500," directly in MyGeotab.
I already have a fuel card provider. Why switch?
Legacy fuel card integrations only report on transaction anomalies after the fact, documenting losses after the money is already gone. By natively connecting your card transactions to live vehicle telematics, the Geotab Fleet Card actively blocks unauthorized purchases at the pump before checkout while proactively guiding drivers to the lowest-cost in-network stations along their route.

* Savings figures reflect realized average savings per gallon across transactions at merchant partner locations during H2 2025. The “up to $2.00 per gallon” figure refers to maximum realized savings per gallon of truck diesel at select merchant partner truck stops during the same period. Fuel spend recovery of “up to 15%” reflects combined fraud prevention and fuel network savings and assumes program adoption across the fleet. Individual discounts and savings vary by fleet, route, fueling behavior, and station selection. Past savings do not guarantee future results.
† The Fraud Guarantee is available to AtoB Premium customers with either (i) a credit account, or (ii) a qualifying prepaid account with established usage history (the account has been open and actively used for at least 60 days (regular monthly activity beyond monthly fees) and has at least $5,000 in annual account usage). For a transaction to be covered by the Fraud Guarantee, the card used in a transaction must have all of the following in place: (a) Card Unlock Security enabled; (b) Block Transactions with Telematics enabled; and (c) assignment to a vehicle equipped with telematics. The account must also be in good standing (no failed payments in the last 8 weeks) and in full compliance with the AtoB Platform Agreement.
