Pushing Limits: How Max Bekima Engineers His Path to Personal Bests
Senior Hardware Integration Engineer by day, streetlifting champion by passion

When Max Bekima joined Geotab in September 2021, he brought with him not only a background in embedded engineering, but also an engineer’s mindset for continuous improvement. Whether he's solving complex integration problems or striving for a personal best on the pullup bar, Max is dedicated to pushing boundaries.
Now a Senior Hardware Integration Engineer on the Hardware Development team, Max plays a key role in advancing Geotab’s truck solutions, particularly in cold chain integrations. ‘’My role involves investigating new cold chain units to pinpoint the best data retrieval connection points for fleets,’’’ he explained. ‘’From there, I work with different teams across Geotab to design hardware solutions that help connect new vehicles to our platform. Once those solutions are ready, I support everything from testing and training to customer pilots and events — all to help expand our product offerings and open new doors for our partners.”
That same hands-on energy translates outside of work with his one true passion: streetlifting. Streetlifting is a strength-based version of calisthenics that combines bodyweight mastery with heavy resistance training. Think pull-ups, dips, and muscle-ups with a weighted belt!
“The goal is to achieve the heaviest single repetition with perfect form,’’ he explained. ‘’In my three official competitions to date, I've proudly secured two podiums, including the title of current Northern France champion in my weight class.’’
He recently hired a coach to help him push to the next level. “I want to compete at the national and international level, that’s the goal,’’ he said.

While engineering and streetlifting may seem like separate worlds, Max sees clear parallels. “Whether I’m in the gym or at work, my focus is on constant improvement and competitiveness. I’m in a perpetual state of self-evaluation to enhance my progression and performance,’’ he said. ‘’I learn something every day at Geotab, whether through colleagues or the tasks themselves. Knowledge acquisition is never truly complete!’’
He’s even found ways to share that passion with colleagues. When he was stationed at Geotab’s Madrid office, Max hosted a training session at a calisthenics park nearby. “It was a fun way to introduce people to calisthenics — and show them just how tough it is!” he joked.
By pushing limits and sharing what he loves, Max exemplifies the kind of drive and collaborative spirit that defines Geotab.
