With decades in the transportation, aerospace, physical security and telematics industries, John has combined his technical/scientific curiosity with practical business experience gained in both large and small companies.

About

John Ballantyne came to Geotab in 2019 as a subject matter expert in Video Telematics. He helped develop the strategy that led to Geotab’s current GoFocus Plus and GoFocus Pro video telematics products. Prior to that John held the position of CTO at Lytx (formerly DriveCam). John’s career includes R&D roles in the transportation and aerospace industries in advanced electric propulsion systems and space robotics systems. Many of his projects were collaborations with world class university research partners. He was awarded several invention patents for work related to robotics and control.
