Enhancements to your MyGeotab Video experience
We’re excited to introduce two key updates designed to bring more clarity and efficiency in managing your camera devices and video requests.
What’s new: Video Request History panel
To help declutter your video gallery and make it easier to track video requests, we have introduced the new Pending Video Request panel.
This new panel provides a space to monitor the status and history of your custom video requests. Accessible from the top right-hand corner of the Video Recordings page, it displays a list of all your pending requests with key details like status, time, the associated asset or driver, and a clear description of the request's progress.

This change keeps your main gallery focused on completed videos, while giving you full visibility into the progress of your requests.
Coming soon: Camera bulk settings improvements
We’ll be redesigning the bulk camera settings experience to be clearer, more consistent, and more aligned with the user-friendly standards you expect from MyGeotab.
Soon, when performing a bulk update, you will be able to explicitly select an action for each setting, such as On, Off, or No Change. This enhancement allows you to apply precise changes with confidence across a group of cameras, regardless of their previous individual settings, creating a more predictable and efficient workflow.

Ongoing user interface enhancements in MyGeotab
This month we’ve made a few small changes to MyGeotab’s user interface. These updates are designed to improve how you navigate the platform and make your most-used features quicker to find. We're tidying up pages by moving similar controls into one area so they are always easy to access.
To stay up-to-date on future changes, refer to this document.
What’s new?
Messages, Notifications and Geotab Ace: To reduce additional clutter in the left-hand navigation menu, we've removed both Messages and Notifications, and we’ll soon be removing Ace. All three can still be accessed from to the top blue bar.

Support: We’ve removed the Support icon (?) from the top blue bar. Support remains accessible from the left-hand navigation menu.

A new default Faults page is here
Starting in mid-September, when you navigate to the Faults page, you will automatically see the new, more intuitive layout. This view helps you quickly assess the risk of breakdown and decide on the best course of action.
During this transition period, you will still have the option to temporarily revert to the classic view using the banner at the top of the page. We will be actively monitoring feedback and reversions to ensure satisfaction, and plan to do a full release by the end of the year.
A quick reminder of the benefits
For those who may not have tried the beta, the new Faults page helps you:
- Prioritize with severity: Instantly see whether a fault is of low, medium, or high severity, helping you triage your maintenance workflow.
- Take action with confidence: Get clear, recommended actions for specific fault codes to understand the next steps.
- Understand the impact: See the potential effect a fault can have on the related vehicle component.
Keep your fleet cool and controlled with Geotab's Cold Chain Solution
We are excited to announce the general availability of Geotab's comprehensive Cold Chain Solution. This solution provides near real-time monitoring and management of cargo temperature and refrigeration unit status, and aims to help ensure cargo integrity, maintain compliance, and optimize operations.
What’s new?
At the heart of the solution is the new Cold Chain page in MyGeotab. This centralized view gives you a live look at your refrigerated assets, including:
- Up-to-the-minute cargo temperatures, setpoints, and door status across multiple zones.
- Critical engine data, sensor readings, and diagnostics from all assets in one place.
- Near real-time asset tracking and operational status.

How it integrates with your fleet
The new Cold Chain page is powered by direct reefer unit integrations.
- In North America (US, Canada, Mexico) Geotab offers direct API integration with Thermo King units as the only exclusive integration and hardware integration via the new IOX-COLD devices for connecting to other reefer units.
- For all other regions, Geotab offers only the hardware integration via IOX-COLD for all reefer units.

Why it matters
This solution is designed to give you greater control over your temperature-sensitive operations. You can enable "Cargo Temperature Out of Safe Range" rules to receive smart alerts on critical events, allowing you to act fast to prevent spoilage.
For compliance and operational review, you can easily access in-depth historical data and generate accurate Proof of Delivery (POD) documents, complete with trip duration and cargo temperature information for any time period.
Availability
The Cold Chain Solution is now available globally. After successful installation of a reporting device, the Cold Chain view and rules will automatically appear under the Compliance section in MyGeotab.
Stay informed with SMS notifications for Rules and Exceptions
You can now configure notifications to be sent directly to a mobile device via SMS the moment an exception is triggered. This is ideal for after-hours monitoring or for users who may not have immediate email or internet access.
Availability
This functionality is currently available as part of an expanded closed Beta for our customers in the USA and Canada. If you would like to have this feature enabled on your database, please reach out to your Reseller, Partner Account Manager, or our Support team.
✱ NOTE: Once this feature is enabled on your database, it requires recipients to opt-in through a simple workflow within MyGeotab to ensure compliance.
Gain deeper insights with Fault Severity in Data Connector
To make it easier to distinguish between high and low-priority issues, we’ve added a severity field for all faults. This powerful addition allows you to immediately understand the urgency of an issue, enabling you to prioritize maintenance and allocate resources more effectively.
✱ NOTE: The Data Connector is not currently available for FedRAMP customers.
For existing users, your current template will continue to function without interruption, and a new, updated template that includes the severity data is now available.
Optimize Routes with vehicle capacity considerations
Admins, planners, dispatchers, and drivers can now create more precise and efficient routes by factoring in the specific capacity of each vehicle with the Advanced Routing & Optimization solution.
What does this mean for admins, planners and dispatchers?
Our optimization engine now considers a vehicle's physical capacity dimensions by using Bill of Materials data during route planning. This allows planners to optimize appointment assignments and loads based on what a vehicle can actually carry. We have also updated the Schedule Board to improve how you manage vehicle and driver assignments.
This update can help create smarter routes that adhere to vehicle capacity, reducing wasted space and inefficient assignments.

What does this mean for drivers?
Drivers can now view the Bill of Materials for any assigned appointment directly within the Advanced Routes workflow and can even associate themselves with a scheduled, unassigned vehicle - automatically inheriting its assigned stops for the day.

This update streamlines workflows by putting all necessary load details in one place while empowering drivers to self-manage vehicle assignments. Overall, this will help drivers increase operational efficiency and accommodate unplanned schedule changes with ease.
Gain better visibility into Clean Truck Check compliance
To make managing your Clean Truck Check compliance easier and more transparent, we’ve added key enrollment details directly to the main solution pages.
What’s new?
We made the DMV Expiration Date and Scan Frequency fields visible on both the Asset Enrollment and main Clean Truck Check solution pages. This allows you to easily view the exact configuration that was set during enrollment and take any corrective actions if needed, without having to search through the audit log.

This enhancement provides immediate clarity and helps you manage compliance more effectively. Seeing the DMV Registration Expiration Date upfront is critical for deadline management, while having visibility into the Scan Frequency allows for better workload planning.
How to view
These new columns are hidden by default. To view them, click the gear icon on the top right of the table to update your view and select the new fields.
Decide who gets the bill with new data sharing controls
When setting up a data share, you can now use the Share Data setting to decide who gets the bill. This new setting allows the source database to specify whether billing should be assigned to them or to the target database receiving the data.

Why it matters
This feature provides crucial flexibility and reduces the possibility of incorrect billing. It helps to eliminate the potential for duplicate charges and gives you clear, upfront control over the costs associated with sharing data, which is especially valuable for those who manage vehicles across multiple databases.
Availability
This new control is available in both the MyGeotab UI and via API.
What’s Next in October
Introducing the new EV Performance page
We will be launching the EV Performance page, a powerful tool designed to provide the critical data needed to manage your electric vehicles with confidence, from procurement to daily operations.
This new, unified dashboard will replace the legacy BEV Range Capability and EV Battery Health pages, using our most advanced data models to deliver more accurate and actionable insights.
You will soon find the EV Performance page under the Sustainability section in MyGeotab.
Data-driven insights to maximize your EV investment
The EV Performance page will provide the critical data you need to understand your EV’s long-term service life and total cost of ownership (TCO), alongside its daily operational effectiveness. It will reveal how far each EV can realistically go on a full charge based on recent driving data, how the batteries are performing, and if some vehicles are performing better than others.
At a glance, you will soon be able to track three key metrics for every EV asset:
- Usable Battery Capacity: Understand the real-world energy storage of your batteries.
- Battery State of Health: Monitor the long-term health of your batteries as a clear percentage.
- Range Capability: See a reliable range estimate based on real-world conditions.

Why it matters
This new page will help fleets make smarter, data-driven decisions across the entire EV lifecycle:
- Smarter procurement: Compare real-world battery life and range over time across makes and models before you buy more.
- Route & charge optimization: Assign vehicles to routes they can actually finish and cut unplanned charging stops with reliable range forecasts.
- Proactive maintenance: Spot anomalies in battery health and energy use early, preventing costly failures and informing warranty claims.
How it’s different
We use a single, proprietary algorithm to process raw data from any EV. This unified approach delivers true apples-to-apples performance comparisons across every make and model in your fleet, so you can trust the insights and make EV decisions with confidence.
Availability
This rollout will follow the following timeline:
- October 1, 2025: Roll out begins for the new EV Performance Page
- October 1 to December 1, 2025: Users can still access the legacy BEV Range Capability and EV Battery Health pages.
- December 1, 2025 onwards: The legacy pages and their built-in reports will no longer be available. Reports will not be visible on the Report Setup page in MyGeotab.
✱ NOTE: This page is not currently available for FedRAMP customers.
What you need to do
If you are using the legacy reports based on BEV Range Capability and EV Battery Health, we encourage you to transition them to the new EV Performance report in MyGeotab before December 1, 2025.
A simpler and safer workflow for co-drivers
Shipment information entered by one driver is not currently visible to their co-driver, which can create a compliance risk during roadside inspections.
What’s coming soon?
Shipments will soon be linked directly to both the driver and the vehicle. When a co-driver takes over and logs into the same vehicle, all shipment details are automatically and instantly visible on their log. This change will eliminate the need for manual re-entry, reducing errors and saving valuable time.
Why it matters
This update is designed to make your team operations smoother and more compliant.
- Boost compliance: By ensuring both drivers have the necessary shipping documents, you reduce the risk of costly violations and protect your safety score.
- Streamline driver workflow: The automated workflow is more intuitive and reflects the reality of a team operation, removing a frustrating and inefficient task.
- Increase data accuracy: Linking shipments to the vehicle provides a single, reliable record for a load's journey, leading to more accurate auditing and reporting.
Availability
The rollout for this update will begin on October 1, 2025.
✱ NOTE: During this transition, you may temporarily see duplicate shipment entries for in-progress loads. If this happens, the duplicate entry will need to be manually removed. This is a one-time effect and will not impact any future shipments.
Sunsetting the DIW tool: Moving towards a more unified MyInstall experience
As part of our ongoing efforts to streamline our tools and enhance user experience, we are announcing the decommissioning of the standalone Device Installation Wizard (DIW) tool. Its features have been integrated into MyInstall to create a more cohesive and secure environment for our users.
Why we're making this change
By moving the DIW functionalities into MyInstall, we can ensure more accurate data reporting and a more streamlined workflow. This consolidation eliminates the need to switch between different tools, creating a more efficient process for everyone.
What this means for you
All validation for IOX-COLD and IOX-UREADER installations will now be handled exclusively through MyInstall. For end-users, this will require creating a secure login to MyAdmin to access these features. This change creates a more secure and consistent experience.
Transition timeline
The DIW tool is scheduled to be officially deprecated by October 15th, 2025. To ensure a smooth transition, we have already added a banner to the DIW tool to remind users of the upcoming deprecation. We encourage all users to familiarize themselves with the installation validation process within MyInstall as soon as possible.
