GPS truck tracking provides many benefits, including:

  • Accurate vehicle tracking
  • Vehicle condition assessments
  • Collision detection and notification
  • Secure data
  • Driver communication
  • Advanced data capture

To choose the best fleet GPS tracking device, consider the price point and features you’ll need. Every GPS device is unique, so the cost of tracking systems will vary. The most important vehicle tracking device features to consider include:

  • Robust location tracking: Accurate positioning, strong signal coverage and frequent updates.
  • Reliable alerts: Timely notifications for critical events and changes in vehicle status.
  • Long battery life: Extended battery life for uninterrupted tracking.
  • Easy installation: Straightforward device installation.
  • Two-way communication: Ability to send messages to and from the vehicle.
  • Comprehensive data storage: Historical data for analysis and reporting.
  • Driver behavior analytics: Insights into driver habits for improved safety and efficiency.
  • Remote control: Ability to remotely shut down or immobilize the vehicle.
  • User-friendly interface: Intuitive online platform for tracking and managing vehicles.

The Next Gen GO is built for modern fleets that want to move beyond basic GPS tracking — adding Bluetooth, vehicle monitoring, and tamper protection in one device. The GO Plus (coming soon) is built for fleets with higher demands: remote operations, in-cab connectivity, government compliance, or mixed vehicle types. Both run on the same next-generation platform.

The Next Gen GO has an onboard energy reserve (supercapacitor) that immediately sends a tamper alert the moment power is cut. The GO Plus goes a step further — its dedicated internal battery preserves the final five seconds of vehicle data, including speed and location, giving fleet managers and law enforcement critical evidence even when the vehicle battery is completely severed.

Both the Next Gen GO and GO Plus (coming soon) are equipped with 4G LTE CAT-1 modems.

Yes. Both the Next Gen GO and GO Plus (coming soon) support IOX expansion for specialized hardware, including the full portfolio of Geotab IOX add-ons and Marketplace partner solutions. Both also support native video synchronization with the GO Focus family of dash cams.
