Toronto, ON – March 7, 2019 – Geotab, a global leader in IoT and connected transportation, today announced it has been recognized for overall business performance and sustained growth with the prestigious Canada’s Best Managed Companies designation. Recognizing Geotab for the second year in a row, the Best Managed program award winners are amongst the best-in-class of Canadian owned and managed companies with revenues over $15 million demonstrating strategy, capability and commitment to achieve sustainable growth.
Now in its 26th year, Canada’s Best Managed Companies is one of the country’s leading business awards programs recognizing Canadian-owned and managed companies for innovative, world-class business practices. Every year, hundreds of entrepreneurial companies compete for this designation in a rigorous and independent process that evaluates the calibre of their management abilities and practices.
“Our management team consistently focuses on empowering and growing both the technical and soft skills of staff by encouraging controlled risk taking, inspiring employees to experiment with creativity and most importantly, learning from all outcomes,“ says Geotab CEO Neil Cawse. “Our rapid year-over-year growth and organizational success is a direct reflection of the hard-work and dedication of our talented team. We are thrilled that our commitment to innovation, technology as well as to our employees, partners and customers, has not gone unnoticed.”
Geotab’s position as a global leader in telematics and fleet management has been achieved through the hard-work and collaboration of a team of creative individuals who lend their skills and knowledge to the organization. With its unwavering dedication to “always doing the right thing”, Geotab strives to put its employees first, building a culture based on transparency, trust and teamwork. Geotab’s continuous focus on workplace culture has resulted in employee empowerment, accelerated innovation and a strong customer-centric mindset.
“This year’s Best Managed winners are a testament to the success found when businesses invest in talent, innovate intentionally, and think long-term,” says Peter Brown, Partner, Deloitte Private and Co-Leader, Canada’s Best Managed Companies. “These companies should be proud of this achievement, and their responsibility in acting as role models for other Canadian businesses.”
Applicants are evaluated by an independent judging panel comprised of representatives from program sponsors in addition to special guest judges. 2019 Best Managed companies share commonalities that include a clear strategy and vision, investment in capability and commitment to talent. This was Geotab’s second year applying for the designation.
2019 winners of the Canada’s Best Managed Companies award will be honoured at the annual Canada’s Best Managed Companies gala in Toronto on April 17, 2019. On the same date, the Best Managed symposium will address leading-edge business issues that are key to the success of today’s business leaders.
The Best Managed program is sponsored by Deloitte Private, CIBC, Canadian Business, Smith School of Business, and TMX Group.
