Princeton, New Jersey – May 13, 2016 – Recognized throughout the fleet industry, NAFA Fleet Management Association’s Certified Automotive Fleet Manager (CAFM®) is the industry standard in fleet education. Acknowledging the superior benefits of NAFA’s education, fleet technology service provider Geotab has entered into a partnership agreement the Association.
“NAFA is pleased that Geotab has recognized the value and career-changing benefits of CAFM® education and certification,” said NAFA CEO Phillip E. Russo, CAE. “The Association is constantly refining the CAFM® curriculum to ensure it provides the most relevant and current fleet education. Geotab’s partnership confirms that value and will enable Geotab representatives to benefit from CAFM® education.”
“As a leader in open platform telematics, providing top fleets with business intelligence for better decision-making, Geotab believes strongly in the power of management by measurement,” said Colin Sutherland Executive Vice President, Geotab. “We are excited to participate in NAFA’s education and certification programs to better connect our representatives with the information from telematics technology to the day-to-day challenges of fleet management.”
NAFA’s agreement will enable Geotab representatives to take advantage of pricing discounts for CAFM® certification enrollment, webinars, seminars, and exams. Many employers now require fleet managers to obtain the CAFM® designation prior to, or shortly after, employment. Certification identifies and recognizes exceptional fleet management professionals.
The CAFM® designation identifies excellence in fleet knowledge, and is the only certification program that proves an individual’s expertise in fleet. To become certified, an applicant must pass a series of comprehensive examinations to demonstrate expertise in the eight disciplines of automotive fleet management: Fleet Information Management, Maintenance Management, Vehicle Fuel Management, Asset Management, Business Management, Financial Management, Risk Management, and Professional Development.
“CAFM® is the proven mark of excellence in, and knowledge of, the most-current fleet practices,” said Russo. “Partnerships — like ours with Geotab — further illustrate how pivotal professionals with the CAFM® designation are to fleet.”
