What are the Geotab Innovation Awards?

The Geotab Innovation Awards Open in new window is an annual awards program that honors outstanding fleet teams and individuals who harness the power of data insights to solve challenges, increase safety and efficiency, and enhance resilience.

Now in its fifth year, the Geotab Innovation Awards are open to commercial and public fleets from the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Latin America, South America, Africa and Asia-Pacific. European and UK fleets are invited to apply for the Geotab Innovation Awards — Europe. Nominations for the European awards will open in January 2027.

Geotab Innovation Award categories
The 2027 Geotab Innovation Awards program features eight different categories that celebrate the ways fleets use Geotab Intelligence to achieve excellence across safety, sustainability, productivity and innovation.

Safest Driver of the Year
Honoring the fleet driver with the most accident-free miles over a three-year period.

Road MVP (New)
A new award category for 2027. The Road MVP award for drivers recognizes the individual who has raised the bar in performance at their organization, showing dedication to safety, compliance, mentorship and the professional operation of their vehicle.

Maintenance Champion
Recognizing the fleet that has transformed their operations through innovative maintenance practices and use of Geotab technology and data insights to save costs, time and deliver premier customer service.

Intelligent Fleet Award
Recognizing the fleet that has successfully leveraged AI and Geotab Intelligence, or integrates Geotab Marketplace solutions to solve their business challenge and optimize operations.

Productivity Champion
Awarded for best-in-class use of Geotab data insights to enhance vehicle uptime, improve customer service.

Safety Champion
Recognizing the fleet that has demonstrated outstanding safety performance in the past year and a dedication to driver safety and wellness, through improvement in safety or collision metrics, demonstrated through innovative use of technology or the implementation of proactive safety training or education programs.

Sustainability Champion
Celebrating a fleet that has used Geotab data insights to improve cost and efficiency through initiatives that reduce emissions, improve fuel economy, or integrate electric vehicles.

Altitude Innovation Award
Recognizing an organization that has demonstrated exceptional and pioneering use of the Altitude by Geotab platform Open in new window for mobility insights. This award celebrates organizations that are not only using Altitude in novel ways but are also transforming their operations and making a tangible impact within their region or business through data-driven insights.

What are the eligibility requirements?

The Geotab Innovation Awards are open to public sector and commercial fleets of any size (small, medium and enterprise) that are current Geotab users. You can submit nominations for multiple categories. Prior award winners can be nominated again in new years.

Geotab customers, partners and industry peers are invited to submit nominations for the Geotab Innovation Awards. If you are submitting a nomination for another individual or organization, please ensure they have been notified of the nomination.

Is there a cost to apply?

There is no fee to nominate a fleet for a Geotab Innovation Award.

Tips for writing your nomination

The strongest nominations show clear operational or financial outcomes through measurable metrics. Apply to multiple categories to increase your chance of selection.

What to include in your nomination:

Numbers. Indicate dollars saved or percent change, such as "75% reduction in collisions," "15% increase in fuel efficiency" and any quantifiable results of cost savings ($), fuel reductions (gal or L) or time savings (hrs, mins), etc.
Specify the Geotab solutions and integrated technologies used with details on how they supported improvement.
Describe the initial challenge and how the fleet used Geotab to solve it. What was the positive impact on the fleet, drivers, clients or other teams in the organization?

The nomination form requires the following information:

Nominee & Fleet Details, including type and size
Award category
50-word summary statement of the fleet’s key achievement
500-word description of how the fleet has made an impact or performance improvement over the past year, highlighting metrics where possible

Judges may have a large volume of nominations to review, so we recommend using headings and bullet points where possible for the 500-word response.

How are winners selected?

Nominations are scored and winners are selected by a panel of Geotab experts.

When will the winners be announced?

Winners will be notified by December 2026. The winners will be announced at a special awards ceremony at Geotab Connect Open in new window on January 26-28, 2027 in Denver.
